Foods High in Potassium - To Lower Blood Pressure

Potassium Rich Foods

Eat fresh fruits as part of a high blood pressure diet Try to include adequate amounts of potassium rich foods into your regular blood pressure lowering diet. Potassium, another mineral essential to good health, works with sodium to maintain the body's water balance and regulate blood pressure.

Increased potassium levels in your diet may increase the amount of sodium excreted from the body, this in turn can help to lower high blood pressure levels.

Foods with high levels of potassium include many fresh fruits and vegetables (processed foods tend to contain less potassium than the fresh alternatives).

A wide variety of potassium-rich foods should be eaten daily. There's a large selection of foods to choose from, so there's really no excuse for not getting enough potassium in your diet.
